A Message from Our Principal

Building a Foundation for Success at Tenth Street Elementary
At Tenth Street Elementary, our vision extends beyond academic achievement. We are committed to helping every student grow academically, develop positive social and emotional skills, build strong relationships, and become a confident, responsible, and caring individual. Our goal is to ensure that every Eagle has the opportunity to learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
Achieving this vision requires a strong partnership between school and home. While our teachers and staff work each day to create meaningful learning opportunities, provide support, and maintain high expectations, the strongest foundation for a child's success begins at home. Families are a child's first teachers, and the values, encouragement, routines, and expectations established at home play an important role in shaping their future.
Together, we can make a difference in three essential areas:
Academic Achievement: Encouraging a love of learning, practicing skills, completing assignments, reading together, and celebrating progress help students recognize the value of hard work, perseverance, and continuous improvement.
Attendance and Engagement: Every school day matters! Being present, prepared, and ready to learn creates opportunities for students to build knowledge, develop relationships, and experience success. Consistent attendance helps establish responsibility and habits that will benefit students throughout their lives.
Social and Emotional Growth: Teaching kindness, respect, responsibility, self-control, resilience, and problem-solving helps students navigate challenges and build healthy relationships. These life skills are just as important as academic knowledge in preparing children for the future.
As we continue to grow as a school community, I encourage all of us to view every experience as an opportunity to learn. Mistakes are opportunities for growth. Challenges are opportunities to develop perseverance. Difficult moments are opportunities to practice patience, empathy, and problem-solving. When students understand that they are supported, encouraged, and held to high expectations, they begin to recognize what they are capable of achieving.
Building a culture of support does not mean lowering expectations. It means providing the encouragement, guidance, resources, and accountability students need to meet them. It means working together when challenges arise, celebrating progress along the way, and reminding our children that their potential is greater than any single setback or difficult day.
Our responsibility is not simply to help students become successful learners. It is to help them develop into good people—individuals who demonstrate integrity, show compassion, take responsibility for their actions, respect others, and contribute positively to their communities.
The small things we do consistently can have a lasting impact. A conversation about making a better choice, a reminder about the importance of attendance, a word of encouragement after a difficult day, or recognition of a student's effort can plant a seed that continues to grow long after the moment has passed.
As Principal of Tenth Street Elementary, I believe that when school and home work together with a shared vision, we create the strongest opportunities for our students to succeed. We may not be able to control every circumstance our children encounter, but we can control how we support them, how we respond to challenges, and the example we set each day.
To our families, thank you for trusting us with the opportunity to be part of your child's journey. To our staff, thank you for the time, care, and commitment you invest in our Eagles every day. And to our students, always remember that you are capable of learning, growing, overcoming challenges, and accomplishing great things.
Let us continue to believe in one another, lift one another up, and work together to make every opportunity count. By planting the seeds of high expectations, encouragement, responsibility, and perseverance today, we help our students grow into the successful learners and exceptional people of tomorrow.
Together, we are building more than a school. We are building a community where every Eagle is supported, every student is challenged to grow, and every child has the opportunity to soar.
With Eagle Pride,
Mr. Suchocki
