Just a little about me!
Welcome to first grade! My name is Karen Thompson and I have a Master’s degree in elementary education and early childhood from Ball State University. I’ve taught many grades but first grade is my favorite!
I’m married and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. My husband and children and I are all proud graduates of Anderson Community Schools. I’ve had the joy of teaching my 3 oldest grandchildren and look forward to having my 2 younger grandchildren in my classroom.
I live in the country surrounded by cats, dogs, goats and the above mentioned grandchildren. I love to cook and when I get the chance, read.
Teaching is my passion and I strive to instill a love of learning in your child. Our classroom is a place where children are encouraged to take risks and make mistakes while they learn.
I’m always available to talk with you about any concerns or questions you may have. Don’t hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
“From your parents you learn love, laughter and how to put one foot in front of the other, but when books are opened you discover wings.”
